Data

How the numbers are made

Each count is the number of inspection records whose OPEN_DATE falls in the window, which ends on the snapshot date 2026-10-31: last 30 days = 2026-10-02–2026-10-31, 90 days = 2026-08-03–2026-10-31, 365 days = 2025-11-01–2026-10-31. State pages use the site state (SITE_STATE); industry pages use the inspection's NAICS code (sectors 31–33, 44–45 and 48–49 are grouped as in NAICS). Citation totals cover inspections opened in the 365-day window. Nothing is estimated, filled or adjusted.

Which pages exist

We only publish a page when it has enough records: at least 20 inspections in 365 days for a state or territory, 50 for an industry sector, 100 for construction in a state, and 500 for a 6-digit trade. Skipped: (blank) (4), 55 (40), 99 (70), (blank) (1), AS (15), MP (10), UK (6).

Lag and changes

The latest inspection open date in this snapshot is 2026-10-28. OSHA offices enter inspections after they open, so the last week or two are incomplete. Citation details for open cases may not appear until 5 days after the employer receives them (federal) or 30 days (State Plans), and citations and penalties can change through amendments, settlements and contests until a case is closed. An inspection does not mean a violation was found. Different companies can have similar names: check the address and activity number on OSHA's site.

Names and personal information

OSHA enforcement data is public U.S. government information published by the Department of Labor. Some establishments are sole proprietors or individuals named personally. To avoid listing people, we show an establishment name only when it contains a business or public-body word (for example Inc, LLC, Co, Construction, County); otherwise, or when the name looks like a person's (for example a professional corporation such as a PC or PA named after a person), we show “Name withheld”, and that row shows no activity number or record link. This rule is automatic and imperfect. We never show street addresses. To ask for a correction or removal of a name, email [email protected].
